New York City
Since implementing Everyday Mathematics in 2003, New York City public schools have closed the achievement gap with peers throughout the state each year. At the end of the 2008-2009 school year, 81.8 percent of New York City students in Grades 3 to 8 met or exceeded grade-level math standards.
School District of Philadelphia
Once a struggling urban district, the School District of Philadelphia has made a tremendous turn-around. The percentage of students in Philadelphia who scored in the Advanced and Proficient categories on the Grade 5 PSSA mathematics test has doubled to 42% since implementing Everyday Mathematics in 2002.
Horry County Schools, South Carolina
The share of Horry County third graders who scored at the Basic, Proficient or Advanced Levels on the PACT increased from 54% in 1999 to 91% in 2005.
Kent School District, Washington
Since the adoption of Everyday Mathematics, the percentage of Kent School District students meeting or exceeding the Washington State mathematics standards at Grade 4 has climbed to 68%, compared to 38% in 1999.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Virginia
After the first year of implementing
Everyday Mathematics, scores on the Virginia SOL tests increased significantly. In spring 2002, 85% of Grade 3 students passed the Mathematics SOL Assessment, and 78% of Grade 5 students passed.
