Comprehensive Research Summary
.
A recent report from the National Academy of Sciences (NRC, 2004) makes it clear: no other elementary school mathematics program has been subjected to so much scrutiny by so many researchers. The agreement about the curriculum across so many research studies is, itself, the strongest evidence that Everyday Mathematics is effective.

Research-based, Research-proven

Research was used to create Everyday Mathematics, and research has verified the program is successful. Everyday Mathematics works. The program was field tested one grade level at a time so the authors could improve the program before it was ever published. The program, now in its third edition, incorporates the latest research to make it better than the last.

Student Achievement Studies
.
Research on student thinking and achievement, classroom interactions, and teacher implementation guided the Everyday Mathematics' development. Case studies from the "trenches" have also been important.

NCTM
Standards

.
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics released the Curriculum Focal Points for Mathematics in September 2006. The focal points are compatible with the original NCTM standards, to which Everyday Mathematics is aligned.

What Works Clearinghouse
.
What Works Clearinghouse found the research behind Everyday Mathematics showed a "potentially positive effect." This is the second highest rating possible - something not yet accomplished by any other elementary math curricula.
